In December 2018 Il Ponte held the auction Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, which included the work La cattedrale by Franco Gentilini. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,500.00 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Franco Gentilini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ragazza con ventaglio in November 2000 with an auction result of ITL 84,600,000.00 (€ 77,846.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Arte Moderna e Contemporanea durch, in der auch die Arbeit La cattedrale von Franco Gentilini zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.500,00 und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franco Gentilini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ragazza con ventaglio im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 84.600.000,00 (€ 77.846,79).
