In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection, which included the work The steam yacht Dobhran lying in a Mediterranean harbour by Francisco Vidal. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,232.46), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francisco Vidal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Icarus Chocolate in May 2017 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,228.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The steam yacht Dobhran lying in a Mediterranean harbour von Francisco Vidal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.553,50 (€ 2.232,46) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francisco Vidal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Icarus Chocolate im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.228,11).
