A top price for Francisco Vidal - as previously expected
In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Icarus Chocolate by Francisco Vidal. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,228.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Icarus Chocolate is the most expensive artwork by Francisco Vidal that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Icarus Chocolate von Francisco Vidal zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.228,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Icarus Chocolate das teuerste Kunstwerk von Francisco Vidal, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
