In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art, which included the work Three Figures by Francisco Matto. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 14,201.86) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francisco Matto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Constructivo en rojo y azul, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,164.27).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Figures von Francisco Matto zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 14.201,86) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francisco Matto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Constructivo en rojo y azul beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.164,27) versteigert wurde.
