In the Modern Art auction, the work Le Vieil Olivier, Portugal sold for EUR 7,435.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scene Villageoise Au Portugal in February 2007 with an auction result of EUR 49,329.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Smith erzielte im Dezember 2007 bei Artcurial in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Le Vieil Olivier, Portugal für EUR 7.435,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scene Villageoise Au Portugal im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 49.329,00.
