In January 2014 Christies in Paris held the auction Collection personnelle d'Elsa Schiaparelli, which included the work Portrait D'Enfants Jouant by Francis Sartorius. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,500.00 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Sartorius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Full Cry in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,791.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2014 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Collection personnelle d'Elsa Schiaparelli durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait D'Enfants Jouant von Francis Sartorius zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.500,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Sartorius auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Full Cry im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.791,61).
