Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work View Of Wiganthorpe Hall, Yorkshire by Francis Nicholson. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,803.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Nicholson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Views of Weymouth in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
