Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stone Byer Lin, on the Clyde; and Loch Lomond by Francis Nicholson was sold in the The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. auction at Christies in London in September 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,540.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Nicholson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Views of Weymouth in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stone Byer Lin, on the Clyde; and Loch Lomond von Francis Nicholson wurde im September 2013 in der Auktion The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.540,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Nicholson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Views of Weymouth im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.474,26).
