Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ... (in) site by Francis Ng was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 11,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 12,000.00 (€ 1,142.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Ng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Intimate Spaces #1, which sold at auction in May 2006 for HKD 33,600.00 (€ 3,374.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ... (in) site von Francis Ng wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 11.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 12.000,00 (€ 1.142,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Ng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Intimate Spaces #1 beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für HKD 33.600,00 (€ 3.374,92) versteigert wurde.
