Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dressing Room Study by Francis Lymburner was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. The price achieved of AUD 1,762.50 (€ 1,063.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Lymburner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Advocate in August 2005 with an auction result of AUD 8,962.50 (€ 5,461.82).

Die Arbeit Dressing Room Study von Francis Lymburner wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.762,50 (€ 1.063,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Lymburner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Advocate im August 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 8.962,50 (€ 5.461,82).
