The »bidding war« ended at AUD 3,525.00 (€ 2,126.46), 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Lymburner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Advocate, which sold at auction in August 2005 for AUD 8,962.50 (€ 5,461.82).

Die Arbeit At the Dressing Table von Francis Lymburner wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 3.525,00 (€ 2.126,46) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Lymburner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Advocate beobachtet, die im August 2005 für AUD 8.962,50 (€ 5.461,82) versteigert wurde.
