Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Ranunculus by Francis Cadell was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 31,800.00 (€ 37,409.67). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Cadell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reflection in June last year with an auction result of GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,094,916.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with Ranunculus von Francis Cadell im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 31.800,00 (€ 37.409,67) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Cadell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reflection im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.094.916,90).
