In the American Art auction, the work The New England Coast changed hands for USD 233,000.00 (€ 170,821.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Augustus Silva achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunrise At Tappan Zee in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,658,500.00 (€ 1,909,979.17).
