Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Saint Catherine Of Alexandria by Francesco Morandini was sold in the Old Master Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 66,500.00 (€ 90,362.22). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Morandini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Francesco I de' Medici (1541-1587), Grand Duke of Tuscany, three-quarter-length, in a fur-trimmed coat and a white ruff, his hand resting on the pages of Mattioli's 'Commentarii in sex Libros Pedacii Dioscoridis', on a draped table with a, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 157,250.00 (€ 193,
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Saint Catherine Of Alexandria von Francesco Morandini wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 66.500,00 (€ 90.362,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Morandini mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Francesco I de' Medici (1541-1587), Grand Duke of Tuscany, three-quarter-length, in a fur-trimmed coat and a white ruff, his hand resting on the pages of Mattioli's 'Commentarii in sex Libros Pedacii Dioscoridis', on a draped table with a beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 157.250,00 (€ 193.932,92) versteigert wurde.
