Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in Milan held the auction Arte del XX secolo, which included the work Puledro by Francesco Messina. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of ITL 18,000,000.00 – 24,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of ITL 18,800,000.00 (€ 16,123.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Francesco Messina have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work Busto di donna was auctioned for EUR 18,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Arte del XX secolo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Puledro von Francesco Messina zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von ITL 18.000.000,00 – 24.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von ITL 18.800.000,00 (€ 16.123,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Francesco Messina konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2007 die Arbeit Busto di donna für EUR 18.000,00 versteigert.
