Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Young Shepherd Boy Eating by Francesco Londonio was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,521.20). Admittedly, works by Francesco Londonio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shepherds with their grazing sheep; Shepherds resting with their flock; and Peasants traveling with donkeys and sheep in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,176.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Young Shepherd Boy Eating von Francesco Londonio im Januar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.521,20) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Londonio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shepherds with their grazing sheep; Shepherds resting with their flock; and Peasants traveling with donkeys and sheep im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 55.176,64).
