Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Young Shepherd Boy Eating by Francesco Londonio was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,489.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Londonio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shepherds with their grazing sheep; Shepherds resting with their flock; and Peasants traveling with donkeys and sheep in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,176.64).
