In July 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child with the young Saint John the Baptist by Francesco de Mura. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,500.00 (€ 46,074.08), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco de Mura - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Martirio Di Santa Barbara Strage Degli Innocenti, which sold at auction in June 2011 for EUR 132,750.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen

Im Juli 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna and Child with the young Saint John the Baptist von Francesco de Mura zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 46.074,08) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco de Mura mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Martirio Di Santa Barbara Strage Degli Innocenti beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für EUR 132.750,00 versteigert wurde.
