Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Madonna And Child With The Infant Saint John The Baptist by Francesco de Mura for USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,677.50). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco de Mura achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Martirio Di Santa Barbara Strage Degli Innocenti in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 132,750.00.
