This work of art by Francesco de Mura could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work The Madonna And Child With The Infant Saint John The Baptist changed hands for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,629.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco de Mura achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Martirio Di Santa Barbara Strage Degli Innocenti in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 132,750.00.
