This artwork by Frances Hodgkins achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Flatford Bridge sold for GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,165.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frances Hodgkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christmas Tree in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 193,291.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 82 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frances Hodgkins erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Flatford Bridge für GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.165,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frances Hodgkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Christmas Tree im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 193.291,94).
