In November 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Ibiza by Frances Hodgkins. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,296.24), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frances Hodgkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christmas Tree in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 193,291.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ibiza von Frances Hodgkins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.296,24) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frances Hodgkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christmas Tree im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 193.291,94).
