Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work A Storm, Breaking Away, Vessel Slipping Her Cable by Fitz Henry Lane. The price achieved of USD 441,600.00 (€ 357,599.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fitz Henry Lane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Golden Rule in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,966,000.00 (€ 4,251,715.27).

Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Storm, Breaking Away, Vessel Slipping Her Cable von Fitz Henry Lane zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 357.599,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fitz Henry Lane erzielen.
