In the American Art auction, the work A Storm, Breaking Away, Vessel Slipping Her Cable changed hands for USD 125,000.00 (€ 91,642.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fitz Henry Lane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Golden Rule in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,966,000.00 (€ 4,251,715.27).
