In the Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work Unknown sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,400.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Firmin Massot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Elizabeth Broadhead, later Lady Dashwood (1801-1889), small full-length, in a white dress, seated in a landscape, holding a sun hat, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 26,257.27).
