Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Holy Family by Ferraù Fenzoni was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 61,671.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ferraù Fenzoni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pool of Bethesda (recto); A subsidiary study of the lower right group and of the figure of Christ (verso), which sold at auction in January 2000 for USD 200,500.00 (€ 205,493.49).
