Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Italian Sea Nymph by Ferdinando Vichi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 55,000.00 (€ 35,328.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ferdinando Vichi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Psyche, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 138,600.00 (€ 131,150.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian Sea Nymph von Ferdinando Vichi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 55.000,00 (€ 35.328,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ferdinando Vichi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Psyche beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 138.600,00 (€ 131.150,64) versteigert wurde.
