Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ferdinand Loyen du Puigaudeau could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work 14 Juillet, Fête Forain changed hands for USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,604.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ferdinand Loyen du Puigaudeau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venise, Le Palais Des Doges in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 269,000.00 (€ 197,214.08).
