In the CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS auction, the work Navajos Homeward Bound changed hands for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,163.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ferdinand Burgdorff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Covered Wagon in October 2003 with an auction result of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,779.05).
