Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy in Seal Script by Feng Kanghou was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 6,048.00 (€ 699.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Feng Kanghou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three White Furong Seals in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 885,000.00 (€ 107,843.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Seal Script von Feng Kanghou im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 6.048,00 (€ 699,82) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Feng Kanghou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three White Furong Seals im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 885.000,00 (€ 107.843,17).
