Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Lover's Letter) by Félix González-Torres was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 96,401.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Félix González-Torres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Untitled" (L.A.) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 7,669,000.00 (€ 7,260,935.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Lover's Letter) von Félix González-Torres wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 96.401,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Félix González-Torres erzielen.
