Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Sacrificial Procession by Felice Giani was sold in the From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,191.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Felice Giani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The garden of the Villa Aldini at Montmorency, with a view of Paris in the distance in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 57,182.14).
