The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,802.52), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Felice Giani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The garden of the Villa Aldini at Montmorency, with a view of Paris in the distance in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 57,182.14).
