Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A flying Angel holding Christ’s robe and another dice, accompanied by other Angels and figures by Federico Zuccaro was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 62,766.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Federico Zuccaro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Submission Of The Emperor Frederick Barbarossa To Pope Alexander Iii, which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 194,500.00 (€ 140,230.71).
