This artwork by Fang Shishu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Returning Studio With Books sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,299.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Shishu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,330,000.00 (€ 1,183,484.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fang Shishu erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Returning Studio With Books für USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.299,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fang Shishu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.330.000,00 (€ 1.183.484,61).
