Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape After Wang Meng by Fang Shishu was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,531.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Shishu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,330,000.00 (€ 1,183,484.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape After Wang Meng von Fang Shishu im März 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.531,52) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fang Shishu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Autumn Colors On The Qiao And Hua Mountain Following Zhao Mengfu And Dong Qichang im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.330.000,00 (€ 1.183.484,61).
