Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Resting in the field by Fan Tchunpi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 140,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 56,250.00 (€ 5,933.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Tchunpi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Flute Player in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,440,000.00 (€ 1,110,892.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Resting in the field von Fan Tchunpi im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 140.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 56.250,00 (€ 5.933,16) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fan Tchunpi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Flute Player im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.440.000,00 (€ 1.110.892,17).
