Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Pagoda In Misty Landscape by Fang Congyi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 38,347.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Congyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountain Scenery in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 5,900,000.00 (€ 681,930.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pagoda In Misty Landscape von Fang Congyi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 38.347,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fang Congyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mountain Scenery im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.900.000,00 (€ 681.930,85).
