In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik, which included the work Calligraphic Couplet by Fan Zengxiang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,900.65), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Zengxiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 45,040.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Fan Zengxiang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.900,65) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fan Zengxiang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 45.040,59).
