Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Peonies by Fan Chang Tien for HKD 7,140.00 (€ 794.23). This price was achieved in the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online at Bonhams in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Chang Tien achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Plum with Two Rocks in May last year with an auction result of HKD 264,600.00 (€ 31,413.70).
