Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Sparrows and Red Plum Tree by Fan Chang Tien was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 3,825.00 (€ 425.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Chang Tien achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Plum with Two Rocks in May last year with an auction result of HKD 264,600.00 (€ 31,413.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Sparrows and Red Plum Tree von Fan Chang Tien im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 3.825,00 (€ 425,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fan Chang Tien erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Plum with Two Rocks im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 264.600,00 (€ 31.413,70).
