The artist later travelled to Paris, London and Scotland before settling in Laren in 1917. The painter and the Belgian sculptor Alphonse van Beurden (1854-1938) were part of the same young art circle in Antwerp: Als Ik Kan.

A top price for Evert Pieters
In March 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The sculptor Alphonse van Beurden in his studio by Evert Pieters. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 15,250.00 (€ 17,914.82). With this result, The sculptor Alphonse van Beurden in his studio is even the most expensive work of art by Evert Pieters that we have observed at auctions so far.
