Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sunlight And Shadow by Evert Pieters was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,875.11). Admittedly, works by Evert Pieters have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The sculptor Alphonse van Beurden in his studio in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 15,250.00 (€ 17,914.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sunlight And Shadow von Evert Pieters im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.875,11) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Evert Pieters auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The sculptor Alphonse van Beurden in his studio im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.250,00 (€ 17.914,82).
