In September 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Puerto de La Cruz, Gran Canaria by Evert Jan Ligtelijn. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,553.50 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Evert Jan Ligtelijn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Loosdrechtse Plassen: het Plashuis in January 2002 with an auction result of EUR 9,987.50.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Puerto de La Cruz, Gran Canaria von Evert Jan Ligtelijn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.553,50 und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Evert Jan Ligtelijn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Loosdrechtse Plassen: het Plashuis im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.987,50.
