Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work No title by Eva Hesse. The price achieved of USD 1,092,500.00 (€ 918,221.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eva Hesse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work No title, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 3,980,000.00 (€ 3,569,826.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit No title von Eva Hesse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.092.500,00 (€ 918.221,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eva Hesse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit No title beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 3.980.000,00 (€ 3.569.826,89) versteigert wurde.
