Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Port Au Persil, Canada by Eugene Speicher for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,175.26). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Eugene Speicher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Babette in August last year with an auction result of USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,934.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Port Au Persil, Canada von Eugene Speicher für USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.175,26) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugene Speicher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Babette im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.934,43).
