In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Château Au Bord de la Rivière by Eugène Chigot. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,468.13), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugène Chigot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jeune femme au bord de l'étang, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Château Au Bord de la Rivière von Eugène Chigot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.468,13) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugène Chigot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jeune femme au bord de l'étang beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.789,26) versteigert wurde.
