In November 2021 Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Contemporary Passions, which included the work Cahors by Erwin Wurm. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 882.00 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Erwin Wurm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fat Car in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 150,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in Köln die Auktion Contemporary Passions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cahors von Erwin Wurm zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 882,00 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Erwin Wurm erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fat Car im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 150.000,00.
