Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Vanishing Breed by Ernie Barnes was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 406,400.00 (€ 372,570.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 350,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May last year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000.00 (€ 14,234,460.91).

Die Arbeit The Vanishing Breed von Ernie Barnes kam im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 406.400,00 (€ 372.570,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 350.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000,00 (€ 14.234.460,91).
