Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Trabalhos Gotas by Ernesto Neto. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,220.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernesto Neto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled , which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 60,299.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trabalhos Gotas von Ernesto Neto zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.220,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernesto Neto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 60.299,08) versteigert wurde.
